Lili St. Crowi ''Veidrate inglite'' raamatusarjaga tegin algust nii pea kaks aastat tagasi, kuna ta oli parasjagu vaid mõne euroga müügis ja olin eelnevalt kuskil raamatu lõpust selle paari esimest peatükki lugenud ja eks nii ma ta läbi lugesingi. Aga siis jäi asi sinnapaika, kuna Eestis neid rohkem polnud ja mulle ei meeldi, kui üks raamat on eesti keeles olemas ja siis ülejäänud inglise keeles ja eks ma mõtlesin siis, et ootan ära, millal ka teised eesti keelde tulevad,aga lõpuks mu kannatus ikkagi katkes ja tellisin omale raamatud ära. Kuigi ajapuuduse tõttu see viimase raamatu lugema hakkamine venis ikka päris kaua. Aga kokkuvõtteks ma räägin pigem esimestest raamatutest, kuna ilmselt ei saaks te midagi aru, kui ma ainult viiendast räägiks.
About two years ago I started with Lili St. Crow ''Strange Angels'' series. Since it was so cheap at that moment and I had already read few chapters of it in the end of some other book, so I bought it without thinking. But with other books I waited kind of long time. I just wanted them all to be in Estonian, since the first one bought I in Estonian. But I just couldn't wait anymore and still bought the other ones in English. An then I just didn't have any time and now I read the last book in this year. I will mostly talk about the first books, because it wouldn't make any sense to you if I'm going to talk about the fift one.
Kogu sari meenutab mulle mingil määral sarja Supernatural. Dru on teismeline tüdruk, kes käib koos isaga üleloomulikke olendeid jahtimas. Kuid samal ajal üritab Dru isa leida ka meest, kes tappis ta naise aastate eest, kui Dru alles väike oli. Kuid samas pidi ta üritama ka tüdrukut varjata, sest ta on üleloomulikkus maailmas küllaltki haruldane ja seeläbi ka tahtetud. Aga seda, mis ta on, sellest ma ei räägi, sest muidu kaob kogu põnevus raamatut lugedes ära. Seda enam, et kui ma õigesti mäletan, siis paari esimese raamatuga ei oska ta isegi arvata, et ma miski haruldane olla võiks.
Dru ja ta isa oli äsja uude linna kolinud, kui ta isa muudeti zombiks, mistõttu oli tüdruk sunnitud oma enese isa tapma. Misläbi ja ta täitsa üksi, kuid uues linnas sõbrunes ta poisiga nimega Graves, kes ühtlasi sai hammustada hundilt, kuid päris hundiks ta ei muutu, vaid jääb millekski vahepealseks. Võiks öelda, et need kaks on lahutamatud sõbrad ja samas nad vaidlevad ja tülitsevad siiski päris palju. Ja nii hakkabki Dru oma isa kontakte läbi käima, et ise oma ema ja siis ühtlasi ka tegelikult isa mõrvar kätte saada, kuid tuleb välja, et ta peab ise tema eest põgenema hakkama ja Graves saadab teda kogu teel, hoolimata sellest, et ta sai hammustada just seetõttu, et veetis tol hetkel temaga aega.
The whole series reminds me a little bit of Supernatural. Dru is teenage girl, who is hunting supernatural creatures with his fater. But on the same time her father tries to find the man who killed her wife, when Dru was just a little girl. But on the same time he has to hide her as well, because she is also something special, and kind of wanted in the supernatural world. But I won't tell you what she is or why everyone want her, because then it won't be interesting for you to read it anymore. And if I'm right it appears in the end of second book or in third one that she is something else than human.
Dru and her father just moved in new town, when her dad was turned into a zombie. So she had to kill him in order to live. So then she was toally alone and had to get trough the life on her own. But at school she met with the Asian guy Graves and he was bitten by a werewolf when it tried to catch Dru. So from then they kind of startet to spend a lot of time together and she got herself a bestfriend, who is helping her. Even though they argue a lot, they still can't be without each other. So Dru starts to contact with the friends of her father to hunt down the man who killed her parents. But suddenly it appears that she is the one who has to hide and run for her life.
Ehk siis jah lõpuks ma sain aru, et see meenutab väga Supernaturali, eriti just alguse osas, aga samas on need totaalselt erinevad, kuid lihtsalt mõned teatud kohad ja juhtumised teevad need sarnaseks. Kui sulle meeldib Supernatural, siis arvan, et peaks ka see raamat meeldima. Ja selle raamatusarja puhul on raske öelda, milline see kõige parem osa nüüd oli, sest need kõik on üsnagi võrdväärsed. Võib-olla alguses, kui ma nendega alustasin, siis oli kohati raskem aru saada, kuna ma polnud harjunud veel niivõrd inglise keeles lugema, aga viimast raamatut lugedes oli seda kuidagi nii mõnus lugeda, sest kõik oli palju arusaadavam, kui ma alustasin, just seetõttu, et ilmselt mu sõnavara on tunduvalt paranenud selle aja jooksul. Aga, kui otsustad need raamatut käsile võtta, siis loe neid pigem ühes keeles, kuna nii on lihtsam igasugustest nimetustest aru saada.
So in some points it reaminds me a lot of Supernatural. Especially the background story of Dru. But in the other hand they are totally different. But it even to bother that they share some similarities. So I guess if you like Supernatural, you will like it too. And with this book series it's hard to tell which book is the best one, because they're all so good. But it was so much easier to read the last book. I started the series in Estonian, then next book in English, and then it was bit confusing, because the vocabulary was kind of difficult in the first place, but now when I feel that I'm getting better in English and got used to this book vocabulary. So if you going to read it, makse sure you will read all of them in one language, since it will be easier for you.
